Being a top contender in Mafia Wars does not mean you have to be the most active in street fighting. The best way to never a loose a fight is to never start one! Winning fights is no way to run a successful business. To be the best fighter, you are going to need a lot of insurance. What I mean by this is to have a huge Mafia with lots of weapons and defenses at their disposal.
The greatest reward about fighting is as you kick butt on another Mafia, you are going to take with you a lot of cash and other items that the loosing Mafia has on them. The bad news is if you loose a fight, it will hurt your stats. Additionally, you will loose valuable items and money that are in your possession. All the more reason never to have much cash on hand.
Your ability to come out on top of any fight is really dependent on how big your Mafia family is. Being big is not good enough. You have to be well equipped as so do your members. How big and how well equipped should you be? Bigger than the opposing Mafia! You need a Mafia Wars fighting guide.

Never start a fight unless you are doing it for sport to pick on weaker players. If you decide to pick on people in the beginning of your Mafia career, just remember that they are going to take revenge on you some day. Find some one totally new who does not know any of the dirty secrets that are being revealed to you. Save the big time sport fighting for the day that you become so big and powerful, that you cannot possibly loose except through bad luck.
If you choose to be fighter because it’s in your blood and you just love to do it, then you are going to need to use your profile points on health and stamina. Here’s a few tips that help ensure that you don’t loose a fight:
Find an opposing Mafia that has less members than your family.
Take on a Mafia that is at a higher rank than you, but at the same level of play. The higher level is more or less “fake” because they are doing lots of jobs and not fighting. An added bonus is that they will have a wad of money and items that will become yours!
Find an opposing Mafia with a crappy fighting record. Maybe they have one only a third of all fights. Chances are that you will kick their butt too!
Make you that you check out a players profile before you engage in a fight. You need to know what kind of weapons and armor they have in their possession. If their mob is better equipped, move on and find a weaker opponent. Think like a street criminal again. The smartest wise guys only pick on the weak ducks.
Keep up on your inventory of cheap weapons like hand grenades and hacksaws. You don’t have to pay for up keep on these.
To win fights, you are going to need to be on the defensive. Prop planes, body guards, and night vision goggles are excellent defensive tools to have around. You can obtain these with some mid level looted items. Some of the best defenses are night vision goggles, bodyguards, and a boring old prop plane.
Be sure to make use of the power of Gifting to acquiring defensive weapons. Put things like prop planes on your wish list. Prop planes are excellent defensive tool. Most players are clueless as what to do with a prop plane and will gladly gift them to you.
Just make sure you don’t spend a majority of your time thinking about and planning for a fight. Build up your Mafia in numbers, shore up your defenses, and build your criminal and legitimate businesses.
